I will take the USS Midway and submerge it off the coast of La Jolla Shores California, in order to create an underwater restaurant and bar. You will be able to reach the restaurant along a pier, and enter it through elevators that descend into the lobby or grand staircase which branches out to the breathtaking restaurant on your right, and the commercial spaces of the ship on your left. Inside the ship I am designing & developing a full universally accessible restaurant and bar within the hangar deck of the ship. The ship itself will be powered by the tides and will become an artificial coral reef for the surrounding marine life. By creating a universally designed underwater restaurant, this would provide an opportunity for everyone to explore and experience the ocean no matter their age, disability, or fears. Taking something we enjoy in our everyday lives; dining, and giving it a twist. Creating an environment that is not only self-sufficient, but also gives our underwater marine life a home.
