Taking the USS Midway & sinking it off the coast of La Jolla Shores, that can be reached by a long pier out to the entry of the underwater restaurant. The ship itself will be powered by the tides & currents & will house an artificial coral reef to satisfy the surrounding marine life. Inside the ship I am designing & developing a full universally accessible restaurant and bar down on the hangar deck. Fellow guests will be taken in a set of elevators or by a grand staircase down into a huge public lobby that branches out to the breathtaking restaurant on your right, & the rest of the ship & commercial spaces on your left.

Thesis | Programming​

By creating a universally designed underwater restaurant, this would provide an opportunity for everyone to explore and experience the ocean no matter their age, disability, or fears. Taking something we enjoy in our everyday lives and giving it a twist. Creating an environment that is not only self-sufficient, but also gives our underwater marine life a home.

Conducted 4 different case studies to further research thesis proposal.

Conducted 2 surveys & an interview to further answer any underlying questions I had.

Created a preliminary long program for each of the separate spaces that are required in the restaurant/bar.
